Cancellation & Refund Policy
Version 1.2 — February 2026
This Cancellation & Refund Policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions of CSSAU Pty Ltd (ABN 61 613 671 499), trading as California Superbike School Australia (“CSSAU”, “we”, “us”). In the event of any inconsistency between this Policy and the Terms regarding cancellation, refund, or credit matters, this Policy prevails.
1. Definitions
- “Booking” means your confirmed registration for a CSSAU event, including any hired equipment.
- “Event” means any CSSAU training day, coaching session, or related activity.
- “Business Day” means a day that is not a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday in New South Wales, Australia.
- “Credit Voucher” means a transferable credit valid for 36 months from the date of issue, redeemable against any future CSSAU booking.
- “Cancellation” means a request by the Participant to cancel their Booking, submitted via the Student Portal or by email.
2. Three Business Day Goodwill Window
If you cancel within 3 business days of making your booking, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method, regardless of when the event is scheduled — unless your booking already falls within the Tier C or Tier D timing windows below, in which case the relevant tier applies.
3. Cancellation Tiers
The outcome of your cancellation depends on when you cancel relative to the event date:
Within 3 business days of booking
Full refund
Goodwill window. Refunded to original payment method. Does not apply if the booking is already within Tier C or Tier D timing.
Outside 3-day window & more than 14 days before event
Credit Voucher or transfer
You will receive a Credit Voucher for the full booking value (less any non-recoverable payment processing fees) valid for 36 months. Alternatively, you may transfer your booking to another date or another rider (subject to level requirements and availability).
Within 14 days of event
Credit Voucher + resale queue
Your spot enters the resale/waitlist queue. You will receive a Credit Voucher for the full booking value (less any non-recoverable payment processing fees). If your spot is resold from the waitlist, the voucher is confirmed. If not resold, the voucher remains valid.
Within 72 hours of event or no-show
No cash refund
No cash refund is available. Your spot enters the resale queue. If your spot is resold from the waitlist, you will receive a Credit Voucher for the resold amount. If it is not resold, no refund or credit is available.
4. Resale and Waitlist Process
When a cancellation occurs and the event has a waitlist, CSSAU will offer the cancelled spot to the next person on the waitlist in order. You will be notified if your spot is resold. CSSAU does not guarantee that a spot will be resold.
CSSAU may, at its discretion, publicly advertise the available spot. The cancelling Participant has no right to choose or approve the replacement rider.
5. Transfers and Name Changes
As an alternative to cancellation, you may transfer your booking to another rider, subject to:
- The replacement rider meeting the level prerequisites for the booked event;
- The transfer being requested at least 72 hours before the event;
- The replacement rider completing their own Participation Waiver before the event; and
- CSSAU's administrative approval.
Transfer requests can be submitted via your Student Portal or by emailing us. There is no transfer fee.
6. Changes or Cancellation by CSSAU
If CSSAU cancels an event for any reason (other than weather — see below), you will be offered:
- A full refund to the original payment method (including any payment processing fees); or
- A transfer to an alternative date at no additional cost.
If CSSAU changes the date, time, or venue of an event, and you are unable to attend the rescheduled event, you will be entitled to a full refund or credit as if CSSAU had cancelled.
Weather: CSSAU does not cancel events due to weather conditions. Our training drills are designed to work in all weather, including rain. No refunds or credits are offered due to weather. In the rare event of a venue closure due to extreme conditions (flooding, bushfire, government directive), affected Participants will be offered a full refund or reschedule.
7. Medical and Compassionate Exceptions
CSSAU may, at its sole and absolute discretion, consider exceptions to the cancellation tiers in cases of:
- Serious illness or injury (supported by a medical certificate);
- Bereavement of an immediate family member; or
- Other exceptional circumstances beyond the Participant's reasonable control.
Compassionate requests must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation. CSSAU's decision on compassionate exceptions is final.
8. Payment Processing Fees
Payment processing fees (the 2% card surcharge) are charged by our payment processor and are non-recoverable. These fees will not be refunded in the event of a cancellation, except where CSSAU cancels the event (in which case a full refund including fees is provided).
Refunds and Credit Vouchers are calculated based on the base booking amount, less any non-recoverable processing fees.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
This Policy is intended to be read subject to the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent that any term of this Policy is inconsistent with the Australian Consumer Law, that term is to be read down or severed to the extent of the inconsistency.
